Jake, who helped search the rubble following the Sept. 11 attacks and later worked in Mississippi following Hurricane Katrina, died Wednesday, July 25, 2007.

oh, I read a little about Jake on another blog, but didn't realize that he had cancer, and that he was a rescue dog for 9/11. thanks for providing that insight.
