The Photographic Dictionary

I suppose each of us could create our own photographic dictionary or at least do occasional blog entries of this type if we were so inclined.
The link came to me in my Photojo newsletter.

Has inspiration walked out on you? Is your gray matter a bit too gray these days? Maybe you need a kick in the creative behindus.

The Photographic Dictionary pairs photos with definitions of words, but this isn’t your bog standard A-is-for-Apple dictionary.

    The Photographic Dictionary
I certainly qualify as someone who needs a kick in the creative behindus!

ZZZ-Mailing

I thought this article was interesting. I've found myself nearly falling asleep while at the keyboard but I've never experienced anything like this!

Where Have All the Posters Gone?

As I surf through some of my regular blog reads, it seems that several of my fellow bloggers are suffering the same loss of blogging mo-jo as I am. I just can't seem to come up with a single (post-worthy) idea for a post nor am I able to turn my rather mundane days into funny or serious little vignettes to share with the few good folks who stop by here on occasion.

Just to let you know, I'm here, life is going good, I just don't seem to have much to say or share at the moment.

Like Douglas MacArthur, I shall return!

(I'm thinking that my new found addiction to Facebook might be part of the problem.)

Friday Fill-Ins #110

(This is my first Friday Fill-In)

1. Please don't tell me how the movie ends.

2. Can you call me in the morning?

3. The color blue makes me want to dig out my favorite old sweater!

4. I have a craving for a Snickers bar.

5. If my life had a pause button, I'd pause it on a lazy day.

6. Eyes are the mirror in which we see ourselves in others.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to a quiet evening, tomorrow my plans include working in the yard and Sunday, I want to read my new books if my order comes in !

Wordless Wednesday - February 4, 2009

I had a visitor at my back porch yesterday. I couldn't believe that he actually came this close to the house. Yet in doing so, he ensured himself a wonderful meal of seed and grain dropped from the bird feeder hanging from the eave of the porch.

I even managed to catch a quick video of him.

My Back Porch Buddy on Vimeo.

What you can't see in the pictures or the video, are the number of birds hovering around the feeder above him. The birds come every morning like clockwork, a mix of cardinals, chickadees and sparrows among others, but the squirrels never get this close. They generally prefer to maintain their distance and stay near the big tree toward the back of the yard. Apparently, this little guy was so tempted by the treats on the ground that he decided to go where no squirrel had gone before... all the way to my back porch!

I was just lucky I spotted the little guy before Ginger did and scared him away forever with that booming bark of hers. He still nervously scurried off several times but returned over and over to grab whatever morsels he could find. He even came all the way up on the porch at one point but I had already put the camera down and he ran off again before I could pick it up and get focused on him.

Perhaps someday, I really will manage to do a true "wordless" entry... but it just wasn't meant to happen today!
